About Emilia
Reservations are available up to 30 days in advance via Resy. Walk-ins welcome. Full dinner menu available at the bar.
Welcome to Emilia, a neighborhood Italian restaurant that celebrates light and bright flavors, and wood-fire grilling. My longtime collaborator and Chef de Cuisine, Meri Medoway, whose shared affinity for Italian cuisine is rooted in her maternal family heritage, brings the Emilia experience to life. Taking inspiration from our travels throughout Italy, join us for handmade pastas, crudo, and antipasti β all expressed through a seasonal, ingredient-driven approach β the way weβve always loved to cook together.

A solid 3 out of 5. Being big fans of Vernick and Vernick Fish in Center City, we were extremely excited to try Emilia. Unfortunately, we left feeling a bit underwhelmed, hungry, and dissatisfied at the small portion sizes compared to the high price points per item. First, to get the minor stuff out of the way, the restaurant was freezing. In fact, we heard multiple tables complaining how cold they were, even when the restaurant was completely full. Otherwise, quite a pleasant atmosphere. Second, service was overall attentive, but we felt that our server did not accurately describe several dishes to us. One example was the sweet corn agnolotti pasta, which when asked how many pieces come in an order, she initially said 9, then backtracked to 7, and then provided a range. You could argue I am being nitpicky, but the ask was because we were splitting amongst a group of 4 people and wanted to ensure everyone had enough to split. Third, the food. Emilia executed well on almost every sauce part of each dish. However, the dishes themselves felt simple, bordering on incomplete. I sound obnoxious so let me explain. We ordered 3 pasta dishes: the sweet corn agnolotti ($25), the capellini

Absolutely stellar experience. Top notch service from Bob, and the entire staff is wonderful! Food is extremely high quality and at a fair price. Even the bread basket was fantastic. The sweet corn agnolotti was INCREDIBLE. I could eat 3. We loved the insalata mista, and we got the aged steak special - which was fantastic, made on a wood fire grill. We had 3 deserts, one of which was a compliment for my husband's birthday, and we literally ate every single bite. My husband is a chef, and this is one of the few restaurant experiences, if any, where he had not a single complaint. Everything was perfect. I would return over and over. Skip more "big name" Italian spots... come here. Excellent, 10/10.

Amazing restaurant in Fishtown. Menu is modern Italian but very high end and high quality. The sweet corn agnolotti, bucatini al amatriciana, and white ragu were amazing and definite highlights. Fantastic bruschetta, scallop crudo, and suppli were great starters. Really good wine list and friendly, knowledgable service.

The food was great!! Especially the appetizers! We got the Salmon Bruschetta and the Ribs both were amazing. Our entrees were just good the Pasta tasted like it was missing something and the Swordfish was overcooked :( Our server was very nice!! He explained everything on the menu perfectly! The only problem we had was the wait in between getting water and ordering our Apps. The ambiance is beautiful and intimate.

We had a great experience last night. Overall service was exceptional- Bob was amazing. Emilia has a different vibe than Food & Drink (not in a bad way) but the food was everything we expected from a Vernick establishment. It was hard to choose but our favorites were the scallop crudo (unique and delicious preparation) and the rigatoni ragu bianco. 1a were the roma tomatoes, tilefish, and cabbage. It was definitely reasonable for the food and service we received. We will be back.
